More and more of our volunteers have been literally going that ‘extra mile’ by taking part in various fundraising events for the MediCinema they volunteer at:

  • The volunteers at MediCinema St Thomas’ hold regular fundraising stalls, baking home-made cakes and donating prizes for the ever popular ‘tombola’ which all contribute to their ‘Volunteers Fundraising Pot’ to help towards the cost of MediCinema St Thomas’ refurbishment in celebration of our tenth anniversary.

  • Vertical Limit Venture – Volunteers from MediCinema St Thomas’ together with their friends abseiled down Kings College Hospital in July 2009. You can still show your support by visiting www.justgiving.com/verticallimitventure

  • Volunteers and nurses ran the Glasgow 10k last year raising money for MediCinema Yorkhill.

  • From Everest With Love – In March 2010 Paul, once a patient who benefited from MediCinema, now a committed volunteer, will trek to the base camp of Everest.  To show your support for this honourable endeavour of dedication and endurance, please visit www.justgiving.com/fromeverestwithlove

  • Carry On Up The Thames – last September seven intrepid rowers took on the Thames, canoeing  120 miles from Oxford to London in just three days!

  • In July 2009 a committed team from Sony Pictures London took on the challenge of cycling 44 miles from Cambridge to London and running a half marathon. You can still show your support by visiting www.justgiving.com/sonypictureslondon

  • London Marathon 2008 – Two of UK Garrison’s Stormtroopers undertook the Flora London Marathon for us last year, one even ran in specially adapted Stormtrooper armour!

  • Thank you to ALL the people who have run marathons and half marathons in support of MediCinema – you're all stars.
