Everyone needs a little escapism in their lives, especially if they’re in hospital. There’s often not very much to look forward to, so a visit to the cinema can give a much needed boost to the spirits and it provides a family outing that is otherwise difficult to achieve in hospital.

The all-encompassing environment MediCinema installs includes surround sound, tiered seating, big screen and a bright foyer. Patients coming to a MediCinema screening are signed off by the medical staff on their wards and we have an experienced cinema manager responsible for health and safety. Volunteers bring the patients from the wards to the cinema and medical supervision is provided by two nurses on duty throughout each screening.

MediCinema is available to all patients, their families and carers. Admission is free, so all our patients need to do is enjoy the latest box office releases delivered to the big screen by the latest in sound and projection facilities. With active support from leading film distributors, we screen a wide variety of feature films, from action and adventure to romantic comedies and drama. Some films are even screened to MediCinema audiences before they go on general release.
