MediCinema and The Willow Foundation were the co-beneficiaries for Caddington’s Celebrity Golf Day for the second year running. A great day with lots of celebrities that played or attended in support of the both charities including Lawrence Dallaglio, Zinzan Brooke, Ben Shepherd and Martin Chivers.

A Celebration of Cinema, organised in support of MediCinema, was an amazing night out at The Last Days of Decadence, Shoreditch High Street, London. At this trendy little speakeasy we enjoyed musical treats from Adam Gardener, Honeytrap and Dave Harbour plus guests DJs. There were cinematic cocktails and swing dances, as well as screenings of short films from the innovative FutureShorts. Hopefully there'll be more nights like this to come...
The Cinema Museum in Kennington, London hosted an exciting collection of movie memorabilia and collectables with special guest director Michal Winner opening the event and book signing afterwards. Once again we were the beneficiary of Gensler’s Charity Auction. This glamourous event in February 2010 was chaired by Antiques Roadshow host Eric Knowles and raised nearly £20,000! Auction lots included fabulous designer furniture and tickets to the Alice in World first night screening, Ascot and the Man U vs. Chelsea match...
On the 14th December 2009, we proudly opened our third MediCinema at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle. Ten years ago to the day, MediCinema opened its flagship cinema at St. Thomas', London. We couldn't think of better way to celebrate our Tenth Anniversary than by bringing the magic of cinema to the patients in Newcastle.
On 1st December, we held a private screening of 'Nowhere Boy', the excellent directorial debut from Sam Taylor-Wood about the early life of John Lennon. Taylor-Wood came to introduce the film. The screening was followed by dinner and our annual BAFTA Auction, which raised signifcant funds for MediCinema. What an incredible way to celebrate our Tenth Anniversary.
Our patron, the actor Ewan McGregor, visited the MediCinema at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Yorkhill, Glasgow. He spoke to the children individually and signed pictures for them all, before introducing the feature film, 'Aliens in the Attic.' The kids were thrilled!
TV presenter Ben Shepherd came to see us at MediCinema St. Thomas', where he met nurses and patients and had a tour of our cinema foyer, auditorium and projection booth. We think he was impressed. Cheers Ben!
The Hammer of the Gods team took part in the Thames River Marathon on 5th September in support of MediCinema. Volunteers and supporters also joined us on the MediCinema Movie Walk, going to classic movie hot spots around London. A fantastic day all round!
Citroen UK nominated us as one of their beneficiaries of their charity day, which was held at Caddington Golf Club on September 4th. Rugby star Zinzan Brook and TV presenter Ben Shephard played golf for MediCinema.
Our wonderful volunteers at St. Thomas' raised funds to refurbish our flagship cinema, so now it looks even better.
Canadian film company 'The Captive Audience' featured MediCinema in their documentary about rare cinemas across the world. It will be aired by Sky Canada in 2010.
