MediCinema offers a window of normality and enjoyment during what is a far-from normal or enjoyable time for most patients, regardless of the reason they are in hospital. MediCinema helps to unite families, giving them an opportunity to experience something positive together, during what is often a very difficult and uncertain period.

MediCinema screenings become a shared social experience – bringing people together from different walks of life who are suffering from diverse health problems and illnesses. The fact that patients can be wheeled from their wards to the cinema (after being signed off by a nurse) to watch films in their beds and wheelchairs means that the magical experience is accessible to most patients and their families, friends or carers.

MediCinema has a profound effect on its audience; most return again and again whilst they are still in hospital, while many others contact us personally after their time in hospital and are keen to stay involved with the charity. Whether by becoming a volunteer, making a donation or being a MediCinema advocate – MediCinema has a positive and significant impact on patients whilst they are in hospital and beyond.
