MediCinema visits Swarovski!
In July, MediCinema was invited by the Swarovski Foundation to present at one of the lunchtime lectures at the Swarovski Office in London to raise awareness and celebrate volunteers.
The lecture focused on sharing the work of MediCinema with a special focus on showcasing how vital volunteers are for the charity, including the six Swarovski employees who currently volunteer with us – delivering our services wouldn’t be possible without them!
The volunteering was enabled by the Swarovski Foundation, who organised a trip to MediCinema in 2016 to introduce MediCinema to their colleagues in the Swarovski Office. The Swarovski Foundation has been partnering with MediCinema for two years in supporting the cinemas at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals to deliver their services to patients in need of the escapism of film.
A Swarovski employee said: “Best lecture at Swarovski so far! Incredibly inspiring and wonderful to hear from the charity and Swarovski volunteers; looking forward to volunteering myself.”
Kat Mason, CEO of MediCinema, added: "It was a great opportunity to thank and celebrate the work of six Swarovski employees who have been offering not only their time but also their professional skills to support us. We’re so grateful to the Swarovski Foundation for making this happen and for our wonderful partnership with them.”
The lecture had the incredible result of doubling the number of our volunteers amongst the Swarovski employees, and we hope that similar activities can be a catalyst for involving other corporates in the work we do!
