Whether you want to walk, run, cycle, or swim, there’s a challenge for you — and every mile (or stroke!) will help us create moments of escape, joy, and connection for people who need it most.Â
Below are five fantastic events you can sign up for in 2026 in support of MediCinema. Â

Kiltwalk: April – SeptÂ
Kiltwalk is one of Scotland’s biggest and most inclusive charity walking events, offering distances from Wee Wanders to full Mighty Strides. It’s open to all abilities and takes place across four scenic Scottish cities. Â
Why it’s great:
It’s low-cost, fun, family-friendly, and bursting with camaraderie — perfect for first-time fundraisers or seasoned walkers looking for a great day out. Plus, by joining Team MediCinema at the next Kiltwalk, you’ll be directly supporting adult screenings at the MediCinema at Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.Â

Manchester Marathon: AprilÂ
One of the UK’s flattest and fastest marathon courses, the Manchester Marathon attracts thousands of runners and is famed for its incredible crowd support and personal best potential. Â
Why it’s great: Whether you’re chasing a PB or taking on 26.2 miles for the first time, Manchester’s warm spirit and flat course make it an unforgettable experience. Plus, with a new MediCinema due to open at Manchester Royal Infirmary, early 2026, you’ll be supporting our service in the heart of your community. Â

 London to Brighton Bike Ride: SeptemberÂ
A classic challenge event for MediCinema supporters, we’ve seen many don our iconic pink cycling jersey for our cause over the years. Join Team MediCinema, either as an individual rider or as a group, for this 54-mile ride from Clapham Common to Brighton seafront this summer.  Â
Why it’s great:
It’s perfect for cyclists of all levels, and the finish line at the beach is unbeatable — plus, it’s one of Europe’s oldest and best-loved charity rides.Â

Great North Swim: JuneÂ
Held in stunning Lake Windermere in the Lake District, the Great North Swim is the UK’s largest open-water swimming event, offering a range of distances from 250m and 500m to 1 mile, 2 miles, and 5km – and we’ve got places across every distance! Â
Why it’s great:
Swim in one of the most beautiful natural locations in the UK, with a buzzing, supportive atmosphere and options for every ability.Â

Cardiff Half Marathon: October
One of Europe’s largest half marathons, the Cardiff Half Marathon returns, offering a flat, fast route past iconic landmarks like Cardiff Castle, the Bay, and Roath Park. It’s ideal for beginners and experienced runners alike. Â
Why it’s great:
Offering stunning scenery, huge crowd support, and memorable routes — this is the perfect milestones for anyone building up their running journey.Â
