Team MediCinema Rises to the Challenge at Vitality London 10,000

The team included MediCinema staff, nurses, volunteers and supporters from across the film and entertainment industry, all united by a shared belief in the power of cinema to improve wellbeing and create moments of escape during difficult times. 

Team Chelsea & Westminster MediCinema 

Representing the Chelsea & Westminster MediCinema team were volunteers Luke Natoli and Marion Baudet, alongside Simon Hickson, Cinema Manager at CW+ MediCinema. Together, they took on the challenge to raise vital funds and awareness for MediCinema, inspired by the impact they have seen first-hand on patients and families.

Having previously completed fundraising challenges for MediCinema, Simon took on the 10K as part of his journey towards completing the London Marathon in 2027.

After months of training, including challenging hill sessions during a trip to Greece, Luke achieved an outstanding result, beating his personal best 10K time by an impressive 1 minute and 8 seconds. One of his favourite moments came before race day when a stranger recognised his MediCinema running shirt and asked about the charity, giving him the opportunity to share the difference MediCinema makes to patients and families. 

Marion was equally inspired by the chance to support a cause close to her heart. 

Together, Simon, Luke and Marion spent months preparing for the event, and were cheered on the day by fellow CW+ MediCinema volunteers.  

Running with Pride 

MediCinema nurse, Emma Button and returning runner Jay Juggapah, a longstanding volunteer, both at Guy’s Hospital, proudly wore the MediCinema colours on race day, cheered on by MediCinema Manager, Nicola Hill 

Like many runners, Jay found motivation in remembering why he was taking on the challenge whenever training became difficult, carrying that determination all the way to the finish line. 

Partnerships and Proud Achievements 

Amongst our running team this year included employees from treasured corporate partners including a team of three from Deluxe, Francesca, Alejandro and Nicolas as well as Disney colleagues, Sydney-Rose Lawson and Jamie Lees. 

Sydney took on her second 10K of the year in support of MediCinema.

Balancing wedding celebrations with training presented its own challenge, but crossing the finish line made the effort worthwhile. Sydney was cheered on by her husband and her dog, Nala, who were waiting for her along the route. Sydney will also be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon later in October this year.
