MediCinema appoints Paul Giggal as new Chief Executive Officer
MediCinema is delighted to announce the appointment of Paul Giggal as its new Chief Executive Officer. He takes up the role immediately, stepping up from his position as COO.
Paul first joined MediCinema as a volunteer at the St Thomas’ Hospital MediCinema more than 16 years ago and has been a staff member of the charity for 10 years. He will lead the organisation’s work to deliver on its strategic ambitions of growth to support more patients through the transformative power of cinema in NHS hospitals around the country.
During Paul’s tenure as COO, the charity has built three new MediCinemas – in Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the Manchester Royal Infirmary. This year alone MediCinema has already delivered over 22,000 cinema experiences for patients and their families across its nine hospital sites.
The charity was awarded a BAFTA in 2025 for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema.
I’ve had the privilege of seeing Paul’s passion for MediCinema’s mission and impact first-hand over many years, and I’m delighted to see him lead the organisation into its next chapter. Throughout his time with the charity, Paul has demonstrated exceptional dedication, expertise and thoughtful leadership. His deep understanding of our work, combined with his unwavering focus on the people and communities we support, will help ensure MediCinema continues to grow and make a lasting difference.
